Argentum Nitricum (Nitrate of Silver)

Homeopathic remedy for

Anticipatory Fear - Anxiety

This is one of the great natural remedies for anticipatory anxiety and fear. The symptoms may manifest as bowel symptoms with diarrhea and flatulence. The nervousness will generally produce a lot of
trembling, panting and sometimes limb weakness.

Argentum fears are often
irrational fears the dog, cat horse or bird may refuse to follow a certain route for no apparent reason, such as horses hysterically refusing to trailer.

As would be expected, there is a desire for company and if left alone, they can produce
destructive behavior or self-mutilation.

One particular fear associated with the Argentum picture is of high places, and also of high buildings falling onto them. This human symptom translates in the animal world into an
aversion to being approached from above by vets, groomers, show judges and so on. Together with the anticipatory fear of 'performing', this makes it one of the leading homeopathic remedies for behavioral problems associated with showing dogs and horses.

One of the paradoxes of the remedy is that in spite of the fear there is often a
compulsion to seek danger, and an impulsiveness in the movements. An example would be, jumping out of car windows, running into the street and traffic, etc.

Worse from warmth, a stuffy atmosphere, especially at night.

Better when outside in cold conditions and fresh air.
